D.C. police on Sunday announced the arrest of two Maryland men in an armed carjacking on Friday.

       Police charged 18-year-old Jahlil Perry of District Heights and 19-year-old Cordell Green of Laurel with armed carjacking and carrying a pistol without a license.

       Police said that just after 8 p.m. Friday, the two men walked up to a person in the 1200 block of 16th Street NE, brandished handguns and demanded the person’s vehicle. Police said that the victim complied and that the two teens fled in the vehicle.

       Later that evening, police located the vehicle with the two suspects inside. Police said they also recovered two handguns.

       The men are awaiting trial.
