GOMBAK: Three robbers stormed a goldsmith in Batu 6 here and carted away more than RM200,000 worth of jewellery.

       Gombak OCPD Asst Comm Zainal Mohamed said the robbers were wearing motorcycle helmets with dark visors during the incident at about 6.15pm on Wednesday (Sept 8).

       "One of the suspects, who was armed with a machete, was standing guard at the entrance of the premises, while two others went to the jewellery display and grabbed an assortment of jewellery.

       "Before they fled with the stolen loot, one of the suspects even punched the owner of the premises on the face," he said when contacted on Thursday (Sept 9).

       The suspects were seen riding away on two motorcycles following the robbery, he added.

       "We are in the midst of tracking down the suspects," he said.
