MITO -- Four Vietnamese nationals were stabbed by another man of the same nationality in an apartment in the city of Ryugasaki in Ibaraki Prefecture, northeast of Tokyo, on Dec. 18, police said.
The four, three men and a woman aged from their 20s to 30s, were all reportedly conscious after the attack, which occurred at about 1 a.m. Police have launched a search for the assailant, who fled the scene, on suspicion of attempted murder.
According to Ryugasaki Police Station, which is handling the case, the five Vietnamese people are believed to be acquainted with each other. A knife that was possibly used in the attack was found at the scene.
A woman called for an ambulance after the attack, and paramedics and police rushed to the apartment, where they found the victims.
