A 26-year-old Geneva man was charged over the weekend with attempted murder of an adult family member, officials said.
Bobby J. Haven III, of the 1000 block of Westfield Course, was arrested Saturday and charged with attempted murder and two counts of aggravated domestic battery, Geneva police officials said in a news release.
Around 1:18 a.m. Wednesday, police responded to the Geneva house regarding a disturbance, officials said.
Upon arrival, officers found Haven sitting in a reclining chair holding an unconscious man, Geneva Police Cmdr. Brian Maduzia said. Haven was the only other person in the room at the time, Maduzia said.
Police are continuing to investigate what happened to the unconscious man, Maduzia said.

The man was taken to Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital in Geneva, where he remains in critical condition, officials said.
Haven voluntarily responded to the Geneva Police Department at 7:40 a.m. Saturday, where he admitted to allegedly being involved in a physical altercation with the family member, officials said.
He is in custody at the Kane County jail with bail set at $500,000. He is due back in court on Dec. 29.
