PETALING JAYA: Results from the autopsy performed on 13-year-old Revnesh Kumar’s body will be presented to forensic experts in a peer review on Monday, says Khairy Jamaluddin.
The Health Minister said he, together with health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah and Hospital Serdang forensic specialist Dr Emizam Mohamad met up with Revnesh’s father Naresh Kumar Lachmenou and his mother Vijayarani Govindan yesterday.
Revnesh died on Jan 16, a mere 18 days after receiving his first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
Khairy said the parents were briefed on the latest developments in the investigation into Revnesh’s death, including the ministry’s planning and commitment to find out the cause of death.
“The results of the autopsy and all tests done so far, including the histology examination, will be presented and discussed among forensic experts in a peer review on March 7 for confirmation,” he said in a statement yesterday.
Khairy added that the ministry also planned to conduct extra tests on internal tissue samples, which might be sent overseas for further analysis.
“I have stated my commitment to ensure this is promptly done.”
Khairy said Revnesh’s parents were told of these plans, adding that they understood the steps that would be taken to identify the cause of death.
“I, and the entire ministry, would like to express our sympathies and offer our condolences to the family of Revnesh. The progress of the investigation will be informed from time to time,” he said.
He also urged the public to respect the privacy and the feelings of Revnesh’s family, adding that the public should not spread false information about the case.
