KUALA LUMPUR: Policemen can now obtain training to obtain knowledge about agriculture commodities after a memorandum of understanding (MOU) was signed between the Koperasi Polis DiRaja Malaysia Bhd (KPDRM) and the Plantation Industries and Commodities Ministry.
The MOU was one of two signed on Thursday (March 31).
The first was overseen by Deputy Plantation Industries and Commodities Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wee Jeck Seng and Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Acryl Sani Abdullah.
"Through this collaboration with the ministry, KPDRM has opened the door for officers and rank-and-file policemen to pursue the field of agriculture commodities, especially those retiring soon, so they can remain active while generating an income stream," KPDRM said in a statement Thursday.
A second MOU was signed with Capital A Berhad so members can enjoy special rates for AirAsia flights.
"This will bolster the tourism industry and offer affordable flights," read the statement.
Capital A was represented by its CEO Datuk Kamarudin Maranun.
"May these strategic partnerships reach their goals and last for a long time while benefiting all parties," said the IGP in his speech.
