FORMER Coronation Street star Sean Ward sparked controversy after joining anti-vaccine protesters massed at Television Centre yesterday.

But the Our Girl actor has been more accustomed to starring in hit BBC and ITV dramas than joining demonstrators trying to storm their television studios.

Sean's presence at the march came comes just a few months after he shared a video rant on social media in which he told followers they shouldn't get the Covid vaccine.

The actor, 32, was blasted by Piers Morgan after he posted footage from yesterday's rally, which saw hundreds of people descend on Television Centre in White City, West London.

The group faced off against police as they protested against the introduction of vaccine passports and the vaccination of children.

Piers launched a withering Twitter assault, posting: "You’re the ex Corrie cretin who told everyone not to get vaccinated, right?

       'SELFISH'

"Somehow, I doubt an unhinged, selfish, stupid Z-list actor knows more than the world’s finest scientists.

"So stop peddling your conspiracy theory s**t & shut up before you cost lives."

Lashing back the ex-GMB host as a "silly old clown", Sean tweeted: "I think we have every right to ask why we are vaccinating healthy children?!"

Before the pandemic hit, Sean has previously opened up candidly about the drink, drugs and pornography demons that blighted his acting career.

       CORRIE STAR

In 2014, he landed the role of bad boy Coronation Street drug dealer Callum Logan in the long-running ITV series.

He wreaked havoc on the cobbles as evil Callum who blackmailed and bullied the Platt family until he was killed off, with his character's body buried in concrete.

As well as Sean's one-year stint on the show, he landed a plum role in the BBC army series Our Girl starring alongside Michelle Keegan.

The Manchester actor won plaudits for his Private Frankie "Fingers" Stille and his career appeared to be going strong to those looking on.

But in a 2019 interview, he laid bare how his life began to unravel a year earlier as he battled porn and alcohol addiction.

I had to look inside and see what I was filling this void with - vodka, porn and drink and everything

Sean's addictions were so bad that he suffered serious health issues and his hair fell out.

The depression laid him so low he contemplated taking his own life - and even planned how he would do it.

When Sean returned to the UK after seven months filming in South Africa his depression got worse as he struggled to find more acting work, going for 50 auditions without landing a job.

After weaning himself off his addictions, he said: "For starters it was finding out what my addictions were and where I was going wrong.

Sean Ward has gone on a foul-mouthed rant about the Covid vaccine

"I had to look inside and see what I was filling this void with - vodka, porn and drink and everything."

Last April, Our Girl viewers mourned as they saw Sean's character killed during the final series of the popular show.

But in March this year, he sparked anger after telling fans not to have the Covid vaccine in a rambling foul-mouthed video.

He made his argument about the jab in a highly-charged Instagram Stories post.

       VACCINE FURY

Sean told his followers that they would become "super-spreaders" if they have the vaccine and demanded people "stop having it".

He came under fire the same month for boasting that he went to an anti-lockdown protest in London.

His Instagram page over the past few months is filled with photos of anti-lockdown protests, with claims that the Covid jabs are "not a vaccine" and vaccine passports are "medical apartheid"

He has called Covid certification and vaccinating children "the end game".

In a video posted last week, he insisted he is "pro choice" and that "there's no such thing as an anti-vaxxer".

Adding "you need to stop calling us an anti-vaxxer and conspiracy theorist" he goes on to say "the term conspiracy theorist was invented by the CIA when they took out JFK".

During yesterday's rally, Sean was tagged in a series of Instagram posts, which described the demonstration as a “tipping point”.

The actor shared updates of his day at the protest, showing people moving from Shepherd's Bush, West London, towards the White City studios.

He can be seen trying to stop protestors battling with police, turning around and shouting stop and putting his arm out.
