PETALING JAYA: Widad Group Bhd has bagged a contract worth RM244.3mil to build part of the proposed highway from Kota Baru to Kuala Krai in Kelantan.

       The construction company said its wholly owned subsidiary Widad Builders Sdn Bhd was awarded the tender for the proposed highway project by Jabatan Kerja Raya Malaysia on Sept 23.

       The contract period is for 36 months commencing from Dec 27, 2021 to Dec 26, 2024.

       The project is expected to be funded via internally generated funds and/or external borrowings, Widad said.
