SOUTH Korean K-pop boy group Big Bang’s new music video Still Life has garnered close to 20 million views just a day after it was released on YouTube, China Press reported.
Avid fans of Big Bang who had waited four years for a new song since the group’s Flower Road in 2018 shared their bittersweet memories of the group on the Internet.
“I felt happy and sad at the same time. This song feels like a farewell to the group,” said a fan.
Big Bang debuted 15 years ago and had made a global presence with chart topper hits such as Lie, Fantastic Baby and Haru Haru.
Over the past four years, Seungri left the group in 2019 after he got mired in a scandal.
> The daily also reported that Malaysian rapper Namewee’s YouTube channel, which has 3.27 million subscribers, has been hacked. The artiste’s YouTube, started in 2006, has 1,000 videos and has garnered over a billion views.
However, all the videos disappeared overnight on April 5 after his account was hacked.
After the incident, the name of his channel was also changed into a vulgar sentence in Russian.
The rapper has since tried to recover the videos.
> A record high of 4,127 people applied to be astronauts after Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency opened its enrolment programme for the first time in 13 years, Sin Chew Daily reported.
It was four times the number of applicants in 2008 which saw 963 people applying back then.
This could be due to its wide promotion of the recruitment programme for lunar exploration missions. Out of the total, 22.2% or 919 were women, which is also the highest number recorded to date.
The results will be announced in February next year.
