Basic health protocols still being ignored

KLANG: Many are still not following the basic standard operating procedure of checking in with MySejahtera despite this being imposed for more than a year now.

The task force monitoring SOP compliance had recorded 1,323 violations of health protocols, which include failure to register using MySejahtera since Ops Patuh was launched on June 25.

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said it was important for the public to take heed of this basic requirement.

“This is because information captured in MySejahtera is important especially for contact tracing when there are incidents of Covid-19 reported at premises.

“That is why the public must register their presence as a new normal,” he said after inspecting two factories here to check whether they comply with the SOP.

Also present were Home Minister Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin, deputy home minister Datuk Seri Ismail Mohamed Said and Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani.

Ismail Sabri observed that during the inspections, there were a total of 75 employees of the two companies who did not register their presence at the premises using MySejahtera.

“Employers must also make it their responsibility to ensure their staffers scan MySejahtera when entering premises,” he added.

On Ops Patuh, the DPM said he was satisfied with enforcement activities that were carried out, which saw immediate action taken against factories and business premises for violating the law.
