Angela Levin told talkRADIO this morning that the Royal Family "don't get involved in berating". She said Meghan Markle's claims levelled at Prince Charles were "shocking" and "very rude". According to a text message the Duchess sent to an aide, Meghan wrote a five-page letter to her estranged father to “protect” Harry from the royal family’s “constant berating".

In newly-released messages, the Duchess said senior royals "fundamentally don't understand" her situation with her estranged father Thomas Markle.

Meghan claimed Harry faced "constant berating" from the royals over the situation.

Responding to the claims, Ms Levin said: "She said that Prince Harry was constantly berated by his family.

"I don't think they are that type of family."

She continued: "They don't get involved in berating.

"She accuses his father of doing so.

"I also don't think anyone who is a part of the monarchy should say these things to an aide as well, it's shocking.

"Prince Charles doesn't get involved in dealing with the press.

"He doesn't tell people how to present the Royal Family in the right way.

"He is not going to berate Harry on what to do.

"It's just so rude and ill-mannered."

This week, the explosive evidence emerged as messages between Meghan and her former press secretary Jason Knauf were heard at the court.

Meghan sued Associated Newspapers Limited (ANL) over five articles that reproduced parts of a “personal and private” handwritten letter sent to Thomas Markle in August 2018.

The string of text messages and emails exchanged between Meghan and Mr Knauf were public following a three-day appeal hearing brought by the publisher of the Mail on Sunday and MailOnline.

This comes as exclusive Sunday Express polls in the US and UK revealed that a majority thought the Duke and Duchess of Sussex should stop using their royal titles to promote their business deals or political views.
