Expressing deep concern over the targeted killings of religious scholars, the cabinet reaffirmed that those attempting to disturb peace in Balochistan would be eradicated with the support of the public.

Additionally, based on the recommendation from a special committee, the cabinet approved the sale of wheat stocks purchased in previous years by the Food Department in the open market. The decision was taken to prevent spoilage due to changing weather conditions and ensure the efficient use of resources.

The cabinet also sanctioned the Balochistan Women Economic Empowerment Endowment Fund Utilisation Policy 2024, which will provide interest-free loans to support women’s economic stability and growth.

Furthermore, amendments were approved to the Protection Against Workplace Harassment Act to ensure a safer and more conducive working environment for women. The meeting also approved renaming Golimar Chowk and Kachra Road as Shaheed Zakir Baloch Chowk and SR Poonigar Road, respectively, based on the recommendation from the Local Government Department.

Emphasising the need to expedite contractual hiring in the Education Department, the cabinet agreed to complete the recruitment process as soon as possible. These appointments will initially be for 18 months, with possible extensions based on performance and attendance.

Addressing the meeting, CM Bugti said both the Balochistan cabinet and the public have rejected terrorism. He lauded the sacrifices of security personnel, highlighting that their swift action prevented a greater catastrophe.

The chief minister stressed the importance of meritocracy and good governance in resolving public issues and refuted any claims of linking governance shortcomings with the state.

He assured that the government would uphold merit and provide rightful opportunities to deserving individuals, especially addressing youth concerns through dignified employment initiatives. He said education and healthcare remain top priorities for the provincial government, with ongoing reforms in both sectors.

CM Bugti directed that future cabinet meetings should begin with a review of progress on decisions made in previous sessions to ensure accountability and effective governance.
