KUWAIT CITY, April 14: The Ministry of Interior is diligently working to finalize the “biometric fingerprint” procedure for both citizens and residents within the specified deadline, according to an informed security source who spoke to Al-Rai. The source assured that the currently designated centers for fingerprinting are deemed adequate to accommodate all individuals, eliminating the necessity for expansion.

Approximately 2 million citizens and residents have already undergone the fingerprinting process, leaving around 400,000 individuals pending. The Ministry is committed to expediting procedures by extending working hours, obviating the need for additional centers. It remains steadfast in adhering to the established plan, which entails completing biometric fingerprinting for all individuals by the end of May, marking the culmination of the three-month deadline initiated in March.

Addressing recent concerns about appointment booking services via the “Sahel” application, the source clarified that there are no technical defects. Instead, enhancements were made during the Eid holiday period in collaboration with the Information Systems Department.

Regarding appointment bookings for domestic workers, the source emphasized that workers themselves must schedule appointments through either the “My ID” or “Sahel” applications, without the involvement of sponsors. This measure streamlines the process, ensuring efficient handling of appointments for domestic staff.
