KUALA LUMPUR: Police interrupted a birthday party at an apartment here, leading to the arrests of 28 individuals.
Kuala Lumpur deputy CID chief Asst Comm Nasri Mansor said 16 men and 12 women aged between 21 and 63 were detained during the raid conducted at about 12.50am on Sunday (July 18).
"We also seized some condoms as well as a few packets of what is believed to be ketamine.
"Seven men and four women tested positive for drugs," he said.
ACP Nasri said police would issue compound notices to the owner of the apartment and the agent who arranged the rental.
"The unit was rented for RM300 per night. Partygoers were celebrating the birthday of one of the suspects. They communicated via WhatsApp
"The unit has three rooms and one was used for them to dance to loud music," he added.
ACP Nasri reminded the public not to take part in illegal activities such as private parties as it infringed on Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOP).
"Those with information on activities that violate Covid-19 SOP can contact the police," he said.
