SINGER-songwriter Gary Chaw has reassured fans that he is okay despite suffering multiple injuries after being bitten by his pet dog, China Press reported.
The 42-year-old from Kota Belud, Sabah, shocked fans when he recently posted a photo on Instagram of a blood-spattered floor next to his rescued canine Lubee.
His manager later confirmed that he was bitten on his nose, left arm, and left leg, and was receiving treatment.
“No problem, Lubee sometimes turns feral and suffers from short-term memory loss.
“But don’t worry. Still love, love, love (him). He is as gentle as I am,” Chaw posted with a photo of him petting Lubee.
It was earlier reported that Chaw had spotted a badly injured dog while driving in Taipei in January and immediately sent it to a veterinary clinic.
He named the dog Lubee and adopted him.
Chaw achieved fame in Taiwan, China, Hong Kong and Singapore for his music and songwriting skills.
He won the Golden Melody Award for Best Male Mandarin Artiste in 2008.
> Chicken and duck farmers in Perak have been forced to cut production or close shop due to falling demand and rising animal feed prices, China Press also reported.
According to the farmers, the price of animal feed increased between 40% and 60% in the past year due to higher transportation costs and a weakening ringgit.
As demand fell, the farmers were unable to increase prices to reflect the higher production cost.
