       SARGODHA: Five people, including a non-Muslim youth, were arrested on charges of blasphemy for printing stickers.

       According to sources, the Sajid Shaheed Police Station registered a case on the complaint of a resident of Istaqlalabad Colony. The case was registered under sections of 295-A and 298-A of the Pakistan Penal Code.

       The non-Muslim youth, among the suspects, was a resident of Deen Colony and he was working at a printing press along with four other suspects. The suspects were taken into custody. Police claimed that the case was registered and the suspects were arrested to maintain peace in the area.

       DIES: A woman who was riding a motorcycle along with her husband died as a speeding dumper truck hit their two-wheeler in the Sillanwali area.

       Nadia Bibi, 35, was riding the motorcycle with her husband, Muhammad Ijaz, a resident of 199 Rahwali. The dumper truck hit them at the village Kalri Kanjira near Sillanwali town. Her body was handed over to her family after necessary procedures.

       PEF: Punjab Education Foundation Chairman Malik Shoaib Awan says free education is being promoted with the provision of free books for the schoolchildren in the schools run by the foundation.

       Speaking to the media, he said those involved in corruption in the schools run by the foundation were being held accountable and the process of expelling those who violated the laws with heavy fines was going on rapidly.

       He said Iqra cards were being issued under the checks and balances and the attendance of online students was being ensured. In the near future, he added, along with promoting online education, the PEF would be expanded to Sargodha and the work had started on adding another 100 free education schools in the area.

       UPLIFT SCHEMES: Additional Deputy Commissioner and Chief Officer Municipal Corporation Muhammad Umar Farooq says a comprehensive plan will be prepared for the replacement of the inefficient sewerage to resolve the long-standing problems of the citizens.

       Speaking to the media, Mr Farooq said work was being done with a unified strategy to completely eliminate encroachments from the city.
