THIS is the bizarre moment a man screams in pain after seemingly faking being hit by a car.

The bloke was caught in what the driver described as a "ridiculously" over-the-top performance after bumping the back of a silver pick-up truck in the quiet village of Bridgerule, Devon.

Footage of the collision shows the "victim" waving a different vehicle out of shot down a driveway as the truck reverses into it.

He then slows right down before the man taps his behind into the back of the truck.

He lets out a cry as he falls to the ground apparently writhing in pain before hurling abuse at the motorist.

"Ahhh, you've got my foot stuck, move forward," he yells.

After hobbling to stand, he hops away on one foot as the truck reverses then drives off.

The driver, who wishes to remain anonymous, said: "It is just ridiculous.

"I heard him screaming as if he had given birth to triplets or stood on a landmine.

"I knew he was there because I looked in the side mirror. But next thing I know, he has jumped behind me and he has his hands in the air.

Devon and Cornwall Police confirmed they had been called to an incident on Bailey Terrace at 1.27pm on February 11.

A spokesperson for the force added: "This appears to be a low-speed collision between a car and a pedestrian.

       "One person reported minor injuries.

"Officers attended and spoke to the pedestrian and the driver.

"There was no further police action and the log is now closed."

The injured man declined to comment when approached by The Sun.
