KLANG: A robbery at at a convenience store in Meru saw the culprits making off with RM260,000 in cash after breaking into an ATM there.
North Klang OCPD Asst Comm S. Vijaya Rao, speaking to reporters at district police headquarters after a monthly assembly on Wednesday (Feb 9). said the two suspects' identity was being investigated.
He was quoted by Harian Metro as saying that the duo was "professional" and that a type of gas was used to blow open the ATM, via a pipe from their car outside the shop.
Earlier, police said in a statement on Tuesday (Feb 8) that the robbery occurred at 4.50am.
Investigations were still ongoing.
