Police suspect woman was first bludgeoned to death then set on fire

       IPOH: The burnt body of an unidentified woman, believed to be a murder victim, was found by the riverbank of Sungai Kuala Kangsar.

       Perak police chief Comm Datuk Mior Faridalathrash said the body was discovered at about 3pm on Tuesday (May 31) at Kampung Talang Hulu.

       He said from their initial observation, police suspect that the victim was murdered, and later burnt 24 hours prior to the discovery of the body.

       He said there were wounds spotted on the left side of the victim’s head.

       "Also, a piece of concrete with blood traces was found near the body. It is believed to be the weapon used to hit the deceased’s head.

       "Experts will carry out examinations, and check on dental records to confirm the identity.

       "We will also try to get the fingerprints reports soonest," he added.

       He said the body was discovered by the members of the public who contacted the public.

       He said the body had been sent to the Kuala Kangsar hospital for a post mortem.
