As slushy winter weather settles over the city, boaters beware. Waves as high as 15 feet are expected on Lake Michigan due to Northwest winds.
The hazardous waves are expected to appear Sunday night through Monday morning, impacting visibility and making the lake unsafe to travel by boat. Ports from Winthrop Harbor, north near Wisconsin, to Calumet Harbor near Indiana, will be impacted.
This weekend’s rainstorms will cover much of the Midwest and part of the South, with showers expected from Michigan to Alabama.
