MELAKA: It took 10 firemen an hour to move the body of a woman who weighed 230kg from her home onto a truck yesterday.

       State Fire and Rescue Department operation chief Zulkhairani Ramli said the 33-year-old was found dead by her husband at their home in Taman Desa Damai in Cheng here at 3am.

       He said the woman was lying on a sofa and her husband sought help after failing to resuscitate her.

       Zulkhairani said the department was contacted by the police who asked them to help transport the body to Hospital Melaka’s Forensic Unit.

       He said his men arrived at the house at about 7am and the process took about 60 minutes.

       “We were told that the deceased was an asthma patient.

       “The husband of the deceased shared with us that his wife weighed about 230kg,” he said.

       Zulkhairani said his personnel wore personal protective equipment when executing the task.
