       KUWAIT CITY, Oct 25: The Diwaniyas in Kuwait, a place for Kuwaitis of all walks of life, especially the elderly, are active once again, after almost 18 months, reports Al-Qabas daily. The daily during a tour of a number of Diwaniyas saw a glimmer of joy on the faces of people as they met and greeted each other after a long absence to exchange views and discuss local and global affairs after the country opened the fifth stage of returning the country to normalcy. The discussion dominated local issues and circumstances the country passed through at the height of the pandemic that cast a shadow over everything in addition to the political situation in the country and the region in general. Over tea and coffee, the visitors also discussed Kuwait’s concerns and issues of the Arab region in general. The talks at the Diwaniyas are an important sign and integral part of Kuwaiti society where social, cultural and political issues are discussed and form a kind of a political forum in every Kuwaiti home.

       A marquee is being prepared for a function

       Meanwhile, wedding halls, ballrooms in hotels, and the halls of the Ministry of Social Affairs are being refurbished in preparation for weddings and various social occasions after a hiatus of more than a year and 8 months, reports Al-Qabas daily. Some halls have already received a large number of reservations, especially on weekends. According to workers preparing the wedding halls, the month of November will be full of weddings. Citizens and residents have started reserving the halls, preferring weekends from Thursday to Saturday.

       On the other hand, reservations for weekdays are still slow. They said, “Many event owners prefer to book their events in Kabd, Jahra, Wafra or Sulaibiya farms. Some of them moved the celebration site from livestock pens and farms to halls starting this week”. Regarding prices, the workers revealed that, “There is no increase in the value of the facilities. On the contrary, the competition is high, and offers are being presented for the services of photographers, halls, food services, etc. Packages are in most demand, and easiest for owners, and events, as they save a lot of time and money”. It was observed that many owners of prefabricated halls in Riggae and Jahra areas have prepared their halls to receive reservations by conducting maintenance work on electricity and toilets, and re-furnishing them in proportion to the reception of event owners.
