The Duchess of York has opened up about the late Princess of Wales, giving a rare insight into their close relationship. She highlighted Diana’s love for children and how she would have loved to spend time with her grandchildren.
Speaking to Bella magazine, the royal said: "Diana and I had the same complete love for children.
"We both loved nothing more than to put a smile on a child’s face.
“We’d be having granny parties together and having a great time.
“I wonder whether there would be room for the kids to get onto the bouncy castle, as she and I would be the first on."
Sarah became a grandmother this year for the first time when her daughter Princess Eugenie gave birth to August in February.
Her eldest daughter, Princess Beatrice, is currently expecting her first baby with her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.
Princess Diana has five grandchildren - Prince George, 8, Princess Charlotte, 6, Prince Louis, 3, Archie, 2, and two-month-old Lilibet.
The two royals met when they were teenagers and “were best friends from when she was 14 and I was 15,” according to the Duchess.
