DESPITE being threatened that her nude photos would be leaked, a Malaysian woman refused to give in to the demands of a hacker who had asked for RM1,500, Sin Chew Daily reported.

“He said he had the nude photos belonging to other women, too. I know that paying him would not be the best move as he may continue to blackmail me.

“I know if I did not make this incident public, other women will feel afraid and continue to be blackmailed,” she said.

The daily reported that the woman had received a WhatsApp message from a stranger on April 9.

The stranger also sent nude photos of her believed to have been illegally obtained from her husband’s phone.

He continued to harass her by sending text and voice messages but she refused to give in to his demands.

The woman revealed that the photos were taken after she and her husband were legally married.

“I was not involved in prostitution. What we did was not against the law.

“It was the hacker who used unknown means to access my husband’s phone and use the photos to blackmail me,” she said.

In a bid to make her cough up some cash, the hacker on April 10 lowered his demand from RM1,500 to RM1,000, then RM800 and RM500, and lastly, RM450.

He even threatened to send the photos to her family and friends.

The woman was adamant in her stance and she later made a police report.

The police also accompanied her to make a report with the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission.

Sentul OCPD Asst Comm Beh Eng Lai confirmed the matter.

       > The daily also reported that singer Li Ronghao appears to be dabbling in screenwriting and announced that he had completed a script for a movie.

The 36-year-old posted a photo of a blurred-out piece of paper on social media, except for a line which read “Original Movie Screenplay. Screenwriter: Li Ronghao”.

“I’ve disappeared for a while and 20,000 words later, I’ve completed my writing project,” he announced.

His post generated a buzz on social media, with many fans saying that they were excited to see what he had written.
