Be sure to add extra time to your regular commute Wednesday morning as National Weather Service forecasters warn of an unusually dense fog moving through parts of Illinois and Indiana.
The weather service issued a dense fog advisory that was in effect until 9 a.m.
The fog covers stretches of Interstate 74, Interstate 72, Interstate 70, and Interstate 57 in eastern Illinois and portions of Interstate 57 and Interstate 65 in northwest Indiana.
Weather service meteorologists say commuters should allow extra travel time, drive slower, increase their following distance and use low beams to cut through the fog.
