AMPANG: Police here have arrested five men here who are suspected of breaking into a Pandan Jaya house belonging to Armed Forces personnel and stealing valuables.
Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Farouk Eshak said the suspects are aged between 24 and 39 years old, and were arrested at different locations in the Klang Valley on Wednesday (Jan 12).
"We also seized a Proton Satria believed to have been used for the crime as well as a mobile phone and a wrist watch belonging to the victim," he said in a statement on Thursday (Jan 13).
ACP Mohamad Farouk said that four suspects tested positive for drugs, adding that all had a prior criminal record.
On the incident itself, ACP Mohamad Farouk said the robbery occurred on Nov 28 last year
"The victim claimed three men broke into the house and assaulted him. He suffered bruises to his head and body and three men escaped with the victim's mobile phone and wrist watch," he said.
The suspects have been remanded until Tuesday (Jan 18), he added.
