AMPANG: A 34-year-old foreigner has been detained for allegedly being involved in at least four house break-ins in Ampang.
Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Farouk Eshak said the man was arrested at Taman Lembah Maju at about 5pm on Tuesday (June 7).
"We seized 12 branded watches, three cameras and equipment used to break into homes.
"He has been remanded until June 14 for further investigation. The man has a record of drug-related offences," he said when contacted on Thursday (June 9).
ACP Mohamad Farouk said efforts were underway to track down the man's accomplices.
“Police believe the man is responsible for at least four house break-ins.
"The latest case was in Taman Cheras Indah where a laptop was stolen. The case has been classified under Section 457 of the Penal Code for house break-ins," he said.
