PETALING JAYA: A viral video of motorcyclist almost meeting a gruesome end while trying to top up the air in his tyres has the Twitterverse tweeting.

       In the video, a man is seen squatting by his motorcycle as a large lorry attempts to make a turn near him.

       As the lorry passes, it strikes both him and his motorcycle causing him to be almost swept under its tyres but he manages to roll away just in the nick of time.

       Selangor Traffic Police Enforcement and Investigation Department chief Supt Azman Shariat, in a statement on Wednesday (Nov 24), said that the incident occurred at 8.30am at a petrol station in Bandar Sultan Suleiman, Port Klang.

       "The lorry crashed into the motorcycle while performing a U-turn there. The motorcyclist was filling air in his tyres at the time and the crash almost led to him being run over by the lorry.

       "Preliminary investigations suggest that the lorry driver could have been in a blind spot and failed to see the motorcyclist," he said, adding that investigations were still underway.

       According to reports, the motorcyclist survived the ordeal with only minor injuries.
