KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian Bulk Carriers Bhd returns to the black with a net profit of RM32.06mil in the second quarter ended June 30, 2021, from a net loss of RM12.70mil a year earlier.

       Revenue rose to RM53.62mil from RM39.06mil, the group said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia.

       The current strong dry-bulk freight market has resulted in second-hand prices for dry-bulk vessels to be close to historical highs, the company said of its prospects.

       Compared to the end of last year, the price of a 10-year-old Supramax dry-bulk vessel has increased by more than 75%, it noted. — Bernama
