IPOH: A bulldozer driver rammed his vehicle into a farm owner’s four-wheel drive after a heated argument in Labu Kubong, Teluk Intan.

       The 28-year-old had earlier gotten into an argument with the 24-year-old farm owner over a trench in the middle of the road near the farmer’s family estate last Wednesday afternoon.

       The road is used by those working in the surrounding areas, namely estates and farms.

       The trench dug up by the farm owner is believed to have forced road users to use an alternative route further away.

       Hilir Perak OCPD Asst Comm Ahmad Adnan Basri said the bulldozer driver from Chenderong Balai had also called the farm owner rude and scolded him with expletives.“As the bulldozer driver tried to leave the area, he rammed his vehicle into the 4WD and pushed it away.

       “The bulldozer driver stopped his vehicle, got out and chased the farm owner’s father, aged 53, with a hammer,” he said, adding that the 4WD was badly damaged.

       “The farm owner was also slapped on his neck by another person during the quarrel,” he added.

       ACP Ahmad Adnan said aside from the bulldozer driver, two other people – a 47-year-old estate owner and a 28-year-old lorry driver from Labu Kubong – were arrested on Saturday after the farm owner lodged a report last Wednesday.

       He said police obtained a four-day remand order from the Teluk Intan Magistrate’s court to detain the trio.ACP Adnan said based on their initial investigation, the farm owner had dug up the road to make an irrigation channel to allow water to flow out from his premises as it was frequently inundated.
