KUALA LUMPUR: The Online Payment Module for Fines (e-Denda) which has been introduced in several courts in the Klang Valley since last December will be extended to lower courts in Peninsula Malaysia.

Federal Court Chief Registrar’s Office in a statement said e-Denda for lower courts in Pahang, Terengganu and Kelantan will start on May 12 and on May 13 for Selangor, Perak, Putrajaya and Kuala Lumpur City Hall, while for Negeri Sembilan, Melaka and Johor it is on May 25.

"For lower courts in Penang, Kedah and Perlis, E-Denda will start on May 26. In this regard, fine payment settlement can be implemented using Financial Process Exchange (FPX) via e-court system at https://ecourt.kehakiman.gov.my.

"Through the implementation of the module, members of the public no longer need to go to court payment counters and thus expediting the process of fine payment and release of the accused,” according to a statement on Friday (April 29).

The statement also said all government agencies, lawyers and members of the public who wish to understand the procedures on e-Denda module can surf the Malaysian Judiciary Portal at www.kehakiman.gov.my or contact by email at ecourts.helpdesk@omesti.com or telephone 03-27331313.

Before this, the Malaysian Judiciary launched the pilot e-Denda module at the courts in the Kuala Lumpur Court Complex, Shah Alam, Court Complex and the Selayang Court in Selangor on December 1 last year. - Bernama
