Is your iPhone’s battery draining faster after update? Here’s what Apple says to do

Days after Apple dropped its newest update, users are finding that iOS 15.4 may be draining their batteries.

“iOS 15.4 battery drain is absolutely ridiculous,” wrote one frustrated Twitter user after the March 14 release of the update.

The release included a slew of updates includes new emoji, a long-awaited Face ID mask feature, camera updates and even a new voice for Siri. But even with those new updates, Apple users are questioning why it seems their battery is rapidly decreasing.

“Yes it’s draining fast after iOS 15.4 update,” another user confirmed.

Soon after the complaints began, Apple Support stepped in with a potential answer.

“It’s normal for your apps and features to need to adjust up to 48 hours after an update,” Apple Support replied.

The support account also directed users to ways to maximise their battery life.

These tips include optimising your settings by adjusting your screen brightness and being on WiFi whenever possible. You can also enable “Low Power Mode” in settings, which conserves battery when the device is below 20%.

Apple also allows device users to view battery usage information in settings, which allows you to see what feature or application is draining the most battery.

But if battery life is still dwindling fast for users, Apple Support’s direct messages are always open.

“Let’s have you reach out to us in a DM if this is still an issue after that time so we can help you look into this further,” the account said. – The Charlotte Observer/Tribune News Service
