PETALING JAYA: Unisem (M) Bhd plans to double its production capacity with the construction of its new semiconductor facility in Gopeng, Perak.

       In a filing with Bursa Malaysia yesterday, the semiconductor assembly and test services provider said phase one of the new plant is expected to be completed in April 2023 at a cost of RM300mil.

       “Once completed, fully facilitated and equipped with the latest state-of-the-art equipment, the Gopeng plant will enable Unisem to better serve the needs of our customers with a broad portfolio of products and services.

       It will also enable Unisem to double the production capacity of our operations in Ipoh,” it said.
