June Mummery has accused Lord Frost of giving more licenses to French fishermen which has "added insult to injury to UK fishermen". Her remarks were in response to the latest discussions between the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs and European Commissioner Virginijus Sinkevi?ius. The former MEP for East of England, tweeted: "This is a national scandal.

       "You have capitulated.

"We all know these French fishermen are not entitled to more licenses.

"You have added insult to injury to UK fisherman.

"You have put our waters under more strain.

"186 Coastal MP's, your days are numbered."

Insinuating the Tories had capitulated the Brexiteer added: "Conservatives equals yellow belly."

The tweet was in response to Lord Frost's latest UK-EU Trade and Cooperation Agreement (TCA) update.

Lord Frost tweeted: "Here is the UK Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs statement concluding this phase of talks on fisheries.

"Our approach has been evidence-based and in line with the TCA.

"We have licensed vessels only where sufficient evidence has been provided."

Speaking about the latest TCA discussions a UK Government spokesperson said: "The Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs spoke last night to European Commissioner Virginijus Sinkevi?ius, following several weeks of intensive technical discussions on licensing.

"Throughout this process, the UK’s approach has been evidence-based and in line with our commitments under the Trade and Cooperation Agreement (TCA).

"We have licensed vessels where sufficient evidence has been provided that demonstrates that a vessel qualifies for access under the TCA.

"Where that evidence has not been provided, licences have not been issued.

"On direct replacement vessels, we have taken an approach in line with the TCA which provides stability and ensures the sustainability of our fisheries.

"Last night, following receipt of new evidence from the Commission, the UK licensed 18 replacement vessels on the basis of this methodology. Further technical work on 7 more licences for direct replacement vessels is scheduled to conclude on Monday.

"Jersey has today announced that it can, following receipt of new data this week, issue permanent licences to an additional 5 qualifying vessels currently on temporary licences.

"This will take the total permanent licences issued by Jersey to 130.

"This now concludes this phase of intensive talks on licensing."

June Mummery also reacted with a twee that said: "Boris Johnson has abused his majority.

"He lied to our fisherman and coastal communities.

"Yesterday David Frost capitulated to the French handing over more licenses as a goodwill jester.

       "Our fisherman are being discriminated.

"What the hell is going on?

       "This is outrageous."
