GOMBAK: Four personnel of a law enforcement agency believed to have been involved in the brazen robbery at an evidence storage facility in Dengkil were among six suspects arrested.

       A syndicate had driven into the facility in a lorry, tied up a security guard and loaded crates of seized beer last Thursday before fleeing the scene.

       The enforcement personnel are believed to have provided the syndicate with information on where the seized beer was stored.

       Deputy Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Mazlan Lazim said the arrests led to the seizure of two kilograms of captagon pills, 47 erimin 5 pills and 4.9gm of cocaine worth RM559,899.

       “We also seized mobile phones, electronic weighing scales and cash amounting to RM111,100 from the enforcement personnel’s vehicle which was seized.

       “Investigations revealed that three men had entered the storage facility at Dengkil in a lorry at about 2.30am last Thursday. They tied up the security guard before loading the beverages in the lorry,” he told reporters yesterday.

       “Investigations led to the arrest of the lorry driver and co-driver in Shah Alam while another suspect fled. Police seized 234 alcoholic beverages believed to have been stolen from the storage facility. We then arrested the four enforcement personnel following a police report from the security guard claiming that an insider was involved in the case,” he said.
