BUKIT MERTAJAM: A 23-year-old man was injured in an accident between a car and a van here.

       In a statement by the Fire and Rescue Department, they received a distress call on Sunday (Aug 22) at around 8.50pm.

       “The accident happened at Jalan Bukit Teh in Simpang Ampat. When the Fire and Rescue team arrived at the scene, we found an accident involving a van and a car," said the Department

       It added that the driver of the car was stuck in his vehicle while the driver of the van did not suffer any injuries.

       “The victim was successfully removed from his car at around 9.30am and was sent to the Bukit Mertajam Hospital for further treatment," said the Department.

       “The operation was completed at around 9.40pm and the case was handed over to the police for further action,” it added.
