JOHOR BARU: A car went up in flames after a five-vehicle accident near a bank here.
Larkin fire and rescue station chief Mohd Suhaimi Jamal said that the department received an emergency call at around 2.55am on Sunday (May 8).
He added that the accident happened at Jalan Harimau Tarung, Taman Abad here and said that 11 firemen and four fire engines were deployed.
"Upon arrival, we found a car that was 40% burnt due to the flames. The car was earlier involved in an accident involving four other cars," he said in a statement here on Sunday (May 8).
He added that the fire had been put out by the public before the arrival of the firemen.
"Four people were injured; including two from the burning car and two from another car involved in the accident," said Mohd Suhaimi.
"Meanwhile, four others who were in the other three cars were not injured," he said, adding that the injured victims are aged between 26 and 41.
He added that the injured victims were sent to the Sultanah Aminah Hospital.
