There is currently heavy traffic along the M25 due to two separate incidents. The first reportedly involved a lorry, two vans and two cars on the M25 anticlockwise before J5 (Sevenoaks) and J6 (Godstone/Caterham). However, a separate incident on the clockwise side has seen a car overturn and three of four lanes have been shut. One lane is open now in each direction of the M25 between J5 and Clacket Lane Services.

       In an update at 6.13am, Inrix said: "All traffic being temporarily held and stationary traffic due to accident, a lorry, three vans and three cars involved on M25 anticlockwise before J5 M26.

       "Traffic has been held since 06:00, lanes three and four (of four) are closed on the other side, one of the cars has overturned over the central reservation onto the Clockwise side."

       Highways England confirmed there are currently delays of up to 90 minutes due to an overturned vehicle involved in a separate incident.

       Highways England tweeted: "#M25 J5 #Sevenoaks to J6 #Godstone - Lanes 2,3,4 (of 4) are CLOSED due to an overturned vehicle- @SurreyFRS are on scene."

       They added: "#M25 J5 #Sevenoaks to J6 #Godstone - Lanes 2,3,4 (of 4) are still CLOSED due to this incident - @SurreyFRS, @SurreyRoadCops, @SECAmbulance & #TrafficOfficers on scene.

       "Please take care on approach.

       "There are currently severe delays of 90 minutes back on to the #M26 between J2A and #M25 #A21.

       "Please allow extra time for your journey."

       A police spokesman said: "Kent Police was called at 5.43am on Monday to a report of a collision involving two vehicles between junction five and six on the London-bound carriageway of the M25.

       "Officers are at the scene along with other emergency services and lane closures are in place.

       "Injuries, not believed to be life-threatening, have been reported.

       "Motorists are advised to avoid the area due to heavy traffic."

       One person stuck in traffic tweeted a picture of an ambulance trying to get through the stopped traffic.

       They wrote: "This is what happens when motorways don’t have a hard shoulder.

       "Huge incident up ahead and this ambulance is struggling to get through between lanes 3 and 4.

       "Everyone trying their best to make way. #M25"

       Another person tweeted they have been stuck in traffic for more than one hour.

       Southdown Buses said they are experiencing delays due to the two incidents along the M25 between junctions 5 and 6.

       They tweeted: "Due to two separate incidents on the M25 between junctions 5 and 6, we are experiencing delays to #SD409 and #SD410."

       Lane four remains closed due to the overturned car.
