GEORGE TOWN: Because of a pet, scores of residents trying to return to their apartments had to wait for hours outside.
The pet owner, angry to find that his electronic access card had been blocked by the management committee, left his car at the entrance to the multi-storey carpark to go and make a police report.
Unfortunately for the other residents, it was the only entrance into their multi-storey carpark, resulting in a long queue of cars stretching out to the road outside the apartment block in Jelutong here.
The incident happened on Wednesday evening (March 2), and it is learnt that a senior police officer, who also lives in the apartment block, had to go down to discuss the matter with the chairman of the management committee.
In a phone interview, the pet owner insisted that the house rules of the apartment allowed for the keeping of pets with conditions, and he claimed that he was being unfairly treated by the management committee.
He also said he was taking the management committee to court over his right to keep his pet.
