Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for various infrastructure development projects worth ?6100 crore in Warangal, Telangana on Saturday.
Modi, who was accompanied by Union Tourism Minister and newly-appointed Telangana BJP president G Kishan Reddy and other leaders.
Before attending the foundation stone laying events, PM Modi visited Bhadrakali temple in Warangal, where he performed puja. While addressing a public meeting in the district, PM Modi, “Telangana might be a new-born state, but it has contributed to the history of the country. The (central) government is strengthening the connectivity in Telangana, which is benefiting the people."
Modi further added, “Today I congratulate the people of Telangana over the inauguration of projects worth over ?6,000 crore. Today's new India is young India, its full of energy...we have a golden period in the 21st century's third decade, we have to make full use of it & ensure that no corner of the country is behind in terms of development."
Earlier Telangana BJP leadership informed that PM Modi will visit Telangana on Saturday to participate in several official programmes and a public meeting in Warangal.
Alleging that the NDA government at the Centre has been "anti-Telangana" in the last 9 years, ruling BRS Working President K T Rama Rao had said his party would "boycott" Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to the state on July 8.

From Warangal, PM Modi will travel to Bikaner in Rajasthan, to dedicate and lay the foundation stone of development projects worth over ?24,300 crore, a PMO statement earlier informed.
Modi is set to inaugurate the six-lane greenfield expressway segment of the Amritsar-Jamnagar Economic Corridor on July 8. The newly constructed section, stretching over 500 km in Rajasthan, connects Jakhdawali village in Hanumangarh district to Khetlawas village in Jalore district, ANI reported.
The project, which involved an investment of approximately ?11,125 crore, aims to enhance connectivity and facilitate economic development in the region, according to an official statement.
The statement further added that PM will dedicate to the nation a six-lane greenfield expressway section of the Amritsar - Jamnagar Economic Corridor and phase-I of the Inter-State Transmission Line for Green Energy Corridor.
The statement further added that the PM will lay the foundation stone for the redevelopment of Bikaner Railway station.
PM Narendra Modi is on a tour of four states including Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Telangana, and Rajasthan from July 7 to 8. Except for Uttar Pradesh, all the states are going to polls later this year.
