PETALING JAYA: Malaysians and International travellers coming into the country need not undergo Covid-19 tests before leaving their port of embarkation and after arrival here from Sunday (May 1).
These rules apply to all fully-vaccinated travellers aged 18 and above, and for those 17 and below irrespective of vaccination status.
Those with a history of Covid-19 infection and who have recovered from six to 60 days after contracting the disease before leaving for Malaysia, regardless of vaccination status, are also exempted from testing and need not undergo quarantine upon arrival.
Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin (pic) outlined the new protocols on Sunday, saying they were a follow-up to the announcement made on Wednesday (April 27).

However, travellers aged 18 and above who were not fully vaccinated or not vaccinated at all must undergo Covid-19 infection tests (RT-PCR or RTK-Ag Professional) two days before departure to Malaysia.
"They must also undergo an RTK Antigen test within 24 hours after landing (conducted by) a registered private practitioner with the Malaysian Medical Council, physical or virtually.
"If the tests are negative the travellers will still have to undergo compulsory quarantine for five days in the place of accommodation," he said.
Khairy added that the travellers concerned would have to undergo RT-PCR testing on the fourth day or an RTK-Antigen test on the fifth day and would be allowed to leave quarantine if either of these tests were negative.
He said if a positive test result was obtained at any stage of the process, the traveller would have to undergo the mandatory isolation and treatment procedures.
