KUCHING: The Sarawak disaster management committee has clarified that the relaxation of the EnterSarawak application procedure for fully vaccinated individuals from within Malaysia applies to Sarawakians only.
It said non-Sarawakian Malaysians who wish to travel to the state still need to apply for entry via EnterSarawak online.
However, non-Sarawakian federal civil servants and private sector employees working in Sarawak are exempted from applying for entry.
"They need to show verification letters from their department heads or employers and valid work permits before boarding or at the immigration, customs, quarantine and security (ICQS) complex," the committee said in a statement late Saturday night (Oct 16).
It had announced earlier on Saturday that fully vaccinated travellers from within Malaysia do not need to apply for entry via EnterSarawak or undergo pre-departure Covid-19 screening effective Monday (Oct 18).
The committee said non-Sarawakians married to Sarawakians and children of Sarawakians born in other states were also exempted from applying for entry but were required to show their marriage or birth certificates before boarding.
Similarly, holders of Sarawak's Malaysia My Second Home visa are exempted from the entry application requirement and must show the relevant documents before boarding.
