PORT DICKSON: Two men who allegedly slashed a 44-year-old mechanic to death in an act of revenge have been jointly charged with murder at the Magistrate’s Court here.
No plea was recorded from fishmonger S. Vickna Raja, 32, and cattle farmer R. Kalaichelvam, 45, after the charge was read to them before magistrate V. Vanita.
The two allegedly murdered A. Kannan, 44, between 6.30pm on Oct 12 and 8am the following day in front of a mini market in Kampung Air Kuning Rantau in Linggi.
They were charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code which carries the mandatory death penalty, upon conviction.
The court did not grant bail and fixed Dec 8 for mention.
Fatin Nur Athirah Zainudin prosecuted while the suspects were represented by Paul Krishna Raja.
At the Sessions Court in Seremban earlier, both the accused were also charged with using machetes to cause grievous hurt to the deceased’s father V. Arumugam, 69, at the same place and time.
Both claimed trial to the charge before judge Madihah Harullah.
