KUALA LUMPUR: RHB Banking Group has launched an innovative digital platform RHB #JomDerma which connects various types of non-profit organisations with prospective donors.
It said yesterday that RHB #JomDerma provides a simple and convenient channel for contactless donations to be made to almost all types of registered non-profit organisations in the country including charitable organisations, welfare homes and religious bodies.
Relevant background checks are conducted on all participating non-profit organisations before their DuitNow QR Codes are displayed on the RHB#JomDerma digital platform, the banking group said, as it pushes ahead to promote cashless donations.
The QR codes may also be placed in various physical or digital locations to facilitate transfers to participating non-profit organisations by donors. Contributions can be made by all members of the public regardless of where their bank accounts are being maintained via DuitNow QR or through participating e-Wallets simply by scanning the QR codes with a mobile device.
Managing director of group community banking, RHB Banking Group, Jeffrey Ng said: “We are seeing more and more people coming forward on social media asking for help due to the prolonged Covid-19 pandemic and movement control order.
“RHB #JomDerma makes it easier for donors to identify their preferred causes and the non-profit organisations they would like to support or contribute to, and this can be done by making cashless donations through a safe and secure digital platform.”
