PETALING JAYA: An accident along Lebuhraya Kewajipan, heading towards the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport, led to a chemical spill late Thursday (Sept 9) night.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director (operations) Hafisham Mohd Noor, when contacted Friday (Sept 10), said that the department was informed of the incident at 9.16pm on Thursday.
A hazmat team was also dispatched to the scene, he added.
"At the scene, the responding team determined that the spill was due to an overturned 20 tonne lorry. The spill was approximately 30m by 30m.
"The chemical was identified as a level eight chemical abrasive and the clean-up operation concluded at 4am Friday," he said.
