PUTRAJAYA: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission’s senior director of investigation Datuk Norazlan Mohd Razali has been appointed its new deputy chief commissioner with immediate effect.
He replaces Datuk Seri Shamshun Baharin Mohd Jamil, who retired yesterday.
Norazlan, 57, has held various positions in the MACC, including Selangor and Johor director, anti-corruption academy director, chief of staff at the chief commissioner’s executive office, and head of the Felda integrity unit.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Control Systems specialising in accountancy from University of North Texas, the United States, and a Masters in Economic Crime Management from HELP University.
“Norazlan joined the MACC on Feb 9, 1989, and has vast experience and involvement in many anti-corruption initiatives domestically and abroad,” the agency said in a statement yesterday.
“The MACC expresses our deepest appreciation to Datuk Seri Shamshun Baharin for his years of service and dedication to the country and his efforts to fight corruption.”
MACC also announced that senior director of special operations Datuk Hishamuddin Hashim has been appointed new senior director of investigations.
