The state police chief said the figure is an increase of 3% from RM8.6mil losses recorded in the same month last year.

“We have recorded 348 cases of commercial crime from March 1 until March 31 this year, with total losses of RM8,888,088.48.

“Last year, we recorded 306 cases in the same month, with losses amounting to RM8.6mil,” he added.

Comm Kumar also said that the Johor police will continue to conduct their commercial crime awareness campaign to ensure that there will no longer be future victims of such crimes.

“At the same time, we would like to urge members of the public to be more aware of the latest crime trends and get information on the latest modus operandi through the CCID Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok accounts.

“They could also call the CCID infoline or use the ‘Semak Mule’ CCID website before conducting any online payment,” he shared.
