The unnamed youngster was among nine children who were injured in the Spanish town of Mislata in Valencia yesterday. According to Las Provincias, at least nine children were injured- two seriously – when an inflatable castle overturned in the strong winds.

       They were all attending the town fair on the day before Three Kings’ Eve.

       Euroweekly News reported that Spanish Police sources said that three children who were playing on the inflatable were thrown off it in the gusts.

       At least eight other children were trapped under the collapsed tarpaulins of the attraction.

       The website reported that emergency services - including firefighters from Paterna, Torrent and Valencia - were dispatched to the scene.

       They were joined by two SAMU ambulances and two other basic life support (BLS) ambulances, it was reported.

       According to local publication Levante, five children have been treated at the Hospital de Manises while four others were taken to other hospitals by ambulance.

       As well as the fatality, a four-year-old girl was reported to have suffered serious injures.

       She suffered a strong blow as her head hit the ground, according to witness reports in Las Provincias.

       They were joined by two SAMU ambulances and two other basic life support (BLS) ambulances, it was reported.

       Another two children were taken to Hospital la Fe, and Hospital Clinico de Valencia.

       The parents of other injured children took their children to medical facilities with their own vehicles.

       Spanish murder police have since become involved in the investigation, it has been reported.

       The incident happened amid weather warnings in the area that winds could reach as high as 50mph, according to 20minutos.es.

       Bombers Consorci VLC - which is the Spanish fire service for the area - tweeted a video of emergency services at the scene.

       Alongside a video showing the recovery operation, it wrote: "(Firefighters) in the area of the incident at the Mislata fair.

       "Checking the facilities to rule out that he was trapped under the inflatable.

       "Our best wishes for recovery for the affected children who have been cared for by the media."
