KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 1,312,205 children or 37% of the child population aged five to 11 have received their first dose of the vaccine under the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme for Children.
According to the Health Ministry’s CovidNow website, for adolescents aged 12 to 17, a total of 2,848,821 or 91.6% of the group have been fully vaccinated while 2,946,103 or 94.7% have received at least one dose.
A total of 15,632,112 or 66.4% of the adult population have received a booster dose and 22,948,963 or 97.5% are fully vaccinated, while 23,225,157 or 98.7% have received at least one dose of the vaccine.
On Sunday, a total of 24,254 vaccine doses were administered with 6,622 as the first dose, 818 as the second dose and 16,814 as a booster jab, bringing the cumulative total dispensed under the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme to 68,701,958 doses.
According to the Health Ministry’s GitHub portal, 37 deaths were recorded with Johor having the highest number at 12 cases followed by Kedah with six cases, while Melaka, Negri Sembilan and Selangor had four cases each.
Penang recorded three cases, followed by Sarawak with two cases and Perak and Sabah with one case each. — Bernama
