KUALA LUMPUR: Sungai Besar Umno chief Datuk Seri Jamal Md Yunos is still under investigation for allegedly leaking documents protected under the Official Secrets Act 1972 (OSA), say police.
Sentul Asst Comm Beh Eng Lai said the investigation was still ongoing after Seputeh MP Teresa Kok earlier told a press conference that the case following her police report on May 7 had been classified as "No Further Action" (NFA).
"The NFA classification is only temporary and a standard procedure.
"Police have to classify the case within 24 hours in the system. We will reclassify the case after recording statements from witnesses," he said when contacted.
According to Kok, Jamal had allegedly leaked documents including minutes of a 2016 meeting feedback on the system coordination of the Skim Mersa Usia Emas.
Kok told reporters that the documents were not supposed to be leaked as it was relevant to her ongoing case against him.
Both Kok and Jamal are currently in a court battle after she sued him for defamation after he claimed that she had misused the Yayasan Warisan Anak Selangor funds.
